The Opportunity

As an experienced Foreman you will join and support the site team on a £10m new build primary school in Barrow-in-Furness. This position involves assisting with the preparation, execution and completion of works packages, ensuring high standards of workmanship are maintained throughout. You will work closely with the Site Manager to help achieve project milestones, promptly report any hazards or issues, contribute to a professional and collaborative site culture while adhering to all health, safety, and environmental regulations.

What We're Looking For

Relevant Qualifications:

* SSSTS (Essential)
* First Aid (Desirable not essential)
* SMSTS (Desirable but not essential as long as you have SSSTS certification)

Experience:

* A strong background in the industry, with a minimum of 3 years' experience in a Foreman role or similar position for a leading contractor or subcontractor
* Proven experience working in a similar position on new build / refurbishment education projects

Key Skills:

* Competent IT / software skills
* Comprehensive health and safety knowledge
* Effective communication skills, verbal and written
* Ability to organise and manage project schedules
* A solid understanding of relevant regulations and standards
* Knowledgeable of construction processes, techniques, and materials
* In-depth understanding of construction methods, materials, and building processes
* Exceptional focus on detail to ensure adherence to quality standards and specifications
* Strong understanding of environmental regulations, including proper waste management and recycling practices

Key Responsibilities

* Tool box talks
* Perform and/or participate in site inductions
* Liaise with stakeholders and sub-contractors
* Report and work closely with the Site Manager
* Coordinate tasks among various construction phases
* Promptly report hazards, incidents, or defects to the Site Manager
* Assist the Site Manager with managing the site team and delegating duties
* Adhere to health and safety regulations and policies during
