The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly experienced Quantity Surveyor specialising in the retail sector to oversee the commercial packages across various commercial groundworks, retail and fit out projects based in the West Midlands. You will be responsible for leading all elements of cost planning and financial management, maintaining close collaboration with key stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle. This includes proactively managing financial risks, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards, and supporting the successful execution of projects by keeping them on track and within budget.

What We're Looking For

Experience:

* Proven experience in retail cost estimation
* Strong history of successfully delivering commercial packages on various retail developments
* Experience within the industry with at least 3 years of experience working in a similar position for a leading contractor or subcontractor
* Experience with Bluebeam software is advantageous but not essential
* Relevant degree in Quantity Surveying

* Superb negotiation capabilities
* Full UK driving license (essential)
* Analytical and Mathematical skills
* Excellent sales and presentation skills
* Ability to multitask and prioritise projects
* Strong communication and attention to details
* Understanding of construction laws and regulations
* Proficient in performing measurements utilising Bluebeam software
* The ability to accurately estimate the costs associated with the project
* A solid understanding of construction materials, methods, and techniques

Key Responsibilities

* Procurement
* Conduct site visits nationwide
* Evaluation of tender provisions
* Supply contractors with interim and final payment documentation
* Monitor project expenditures, ensuring costs remain within budget
* Deliver cost insights and financial guidance to clients and project teams
* Recognise and oversee financial risks, formulating strategies for their mitigation
