The Opportunity

We are looking for a highly experienced and proactive Buyer to join the commercial team, providing crucial support across various new build residential projects based in West Yorkshire. This position requires managing contract negotiations, obtaining cost-effective pricing, and coordinating the prompt delivery of materials to adhere to project timelines. The Buyer will work in close partnership with suppliers, contractors, and internal teams, ensuring meticulous record-keeping and monitoring supply chain efficiency to support smooth and successful project completion.

What We're Looking For

Experience:

* Previous experience of efficiently utilising COINS systems
* Extensive house-building background within the industry, operating on various residential new build projects
* An extensive background with at least 3 years of experience operating as a Buyer or in a similar position

Key Skills:

* IT skills
* Superb negotiation capabilities
* Ability to utilise COINS efficiently
* Analytical and mathematical skills
* Strong cost management expertise
* Strong communication and attention to details
* A solid understanding of construction materials, methods, and techniques
* In-depth knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and cost control

Key Responsibilities

* Issuing purchase order information
* Manage and monitor all material rebate related activity
* Overseeing order fulfillment and resolving invoice queries within the COINS system
* Build strong relationships with suppliers to ensure cost and quality of materials is upheld
* Monitor order progress to ensure on-time delivery and address any issues with suppliers
* Monitor annual expenditure, prepare analysis figures and issue and prepare tender invitations
* Create and issue purchase orders, confirming correct quantities, specifications, and delivery terms
* Submit regular updates to management on
